Travel lessons: The test of good citizenship is loyalty to country!

Kashmir, a dream destination for many. To see the beautiful valleys, snow clad mountains, the nature’s beauty, etc. Etc. Etc.

But do we really understand why Kashmir is still the same from past so many decades? The population in Kashmir (which is in Indian boundaries) is around 7 million (Kashmir valley + Jammu), it has the most tourists, domestic as well as foreigners, throughout the year but still the state has preserved its beauty. How? Many cities including the major metropolitan cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Calcutta, Chennai, etc. have lost their beauty since decades due to rising population and tourism. Why can’t these cities be preserved as Kashmir is?

Do people really take care of Kashmir because it is called ‘Heaven on Earth’? Or is it the military power which compels every person going there to be sure to behave well, to keep the city clean? I don’t think these are strong reasons, it’s the people’s mentality which saves the Paradise on Earth. The residents of Kashmir themselves are so protective towards their place that, we, the tourist have to be aware of not spoiling it either. Be it a market place or be it a tourist spot like Gulmarg, all the places are well maintained by the residents and the government. Then why residents from other cities of India cannot be so co-operative to the government? Tourism, as we all know, is a good way of earning for any government. But tourists are attracted to cities which are clean, beautiful; why not try and make our city a beautiful tourist spot, why not help our city stay beautiful for years to come & become the most frequently visited city?

Keeping one’s city clean is every citizen’s duty. Let’s stand for this and keep our city clean in every way possible, from garbage; from bad services; from bad people!

Everyone must realise that Kashmir is not beautiful just because of nature’s beauty gifted to it but also because of the BEAUTIFUL and RESPONSIBLE citizens gifted to it! Become one responsible citizen for your city and I am sure, every city in India would become equivalent to Kashmir and then we can proudly say "Gar firdaus, ruhe zamin ast, hamin asto, hamin asto, hamin ast." If there is ever a heaven on earth, its here, its here, its here in INDIA. JAI HIND.
