Hi, I'm Corona....

Image
I am so excited!!😃 So, let me start by introducing myself. I'm Virus, Corona Virus !😉  I come from the family of Viruses. But do you know, my ancestors dated back to mid-1960s. We were on a mission to make human beings realize how badly they are treating Mother Nature. But everything started spoiling when one of my sibling Co-Vid19 , became notorious in Wuhan, China and the whole world is now facing a pandemic. I feel very sorry for all that is happening because of us. But I guess we all are here for a purpose; and we are very well aligned with ours. As we all know every medicine has a side-effect, similarly our mission too has a side-effect - the Pandemic ! I am aware that the world is badly affected with this pandemic. People are dying in large numbers. Some countries are losing hopes and becoming helpless with the uncontrolled situation they are facing. Countries are facing lock down for unending times! Many people complain about the lock down and how bored they are sitt...

Lockdown or Re-crown?

Image
Human is an adaptive animal and a situation like lock down has just proven this right! With the pandemic scare all over the world, every individual has been forced to live a life different from their routine. Many of us complained about our monotonous routines until the lock down! The routine now seems to be the new fun which everyone is craving for! #humanbehaviour Although we are missing out on that fun, we are adapting to this new lifestyle too. We have a same 24-hours day, but it feels like we have more time than earlier. Everyone that I know have found their own creative ways to pass their time. Not just in fun way but also making every minute count! From trying their hand in cooking , cleaning , to enhancing their personal skills and mastering their hobbies, people have found ways to keep themselves creatively busy. While some are nurturing their in-born talent, many are exploring new one! Opening my Facebook and Instagram to #homemade, #food , #cooking; lovely  singi...

Activity - based Learning

Image
Lock down has literally shown us that “History repeats itself!” While we go back in time with Ramayan, Mahabharat, Shaktiman on TV and some good family time like we had in summer vacations, I thought why not go back in time and revise some mindful lessons learnt. In my article - A Step towards a Goal ( Click here ), I had mentioned about  Blue-Ribbon Movement  and its purpose.  Being a volunteer with them for two & a half year, I have surely met some great people, spoken about civic issues which every Mumbaikar faces everyday but refuses to acknowledge and learnt some valuable lessons which have helped me daily. With a beautiful format of activity-based learning , NSS – Community Connect Fellowship (CCF) involved us into the actual theme of connecting with and helping the community. Some activities involved learnings while doing our civic duties like below: 1. Finding civic problems and raising complaints to the BMC/NMMC/TMC/KDMC:...

Offbeat Friendship!

Image
Friendship..... A bond which is all about love, acceptance, selflessness. Its not just passing time and having fun; its more about standing by each other's side in every phase of life and being transparent on everything that you do and say!! It is a beautiful bond which two people on this earth can share, or should I say not just between people but between a person and anything which he cannot live without? Mumbaikars and Local trains  surely represent a great friendship which is since ages!!   But what made me realise this amazing connection is my journey back home from office, when i saw a friendship band tied to the window of the train!!! At first, I found just one  and clicked a picture but den i realised there were 2 more on the same window!! A band for years of bond! Truly the importance of local trains in life of a Mumbaikar is unmatched......and surely on this friendship day we cannot forget this old friend of ours who has served our gener...

Bullet Train VS Resuming Chennai

“A $15 billion train to run in India between Mumbai – Ahmedabad soon”, the news seems very interesting. This news shows how our new government is trying to get technology revolution in India. But will this train be of any help to the flood victims of Chennai? Will it benefit Chennai in any way? Answer, for sure, is NO! Chennai, which is badly affected by flood recently, needs to resume its earlier life soon. Many people have been affected and getting everything back on track seems very much difficult. Schools and colleges need to be resumed. Rehabilitation till the whole city comes back on track should be our main concern. Our government first needs to look into this matter more seriously than Bullet Trains and Smart Cities. We need to aid Chennai with every possible resource. Technological development can wait but life of a common man, whose house has been submerged in floods, cannot wait but to get repaired first. In India, we think of development on large scale but we forget tha...

Travel lessons: The test of good citizenship is loyalty to country!

Kashmir, a dream destination for many. To see the beautiful valleys, snow clad mountains, the nature’s beauty, etc. Etc. Etc. But do we really understand why Kashmir is still the same from past so many decades? The population in Kashmir (which is in Indian boundaries) is around 7 million (Kashmir valley + Jammu), it has the most tourists, domestic as well as foreigners, throughout the year but still the state has preserved its beauty. How? Many cities including the major metropolitan cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Calcutta, Chennai, etc. have lost their beauty since decades due to rising population and tourism. Why can’t these cities be preserved as Kashmir is? Do people really take care of Kashmir because it is called ‘Heaven on Earth’? Or is it the military power which compels every person going there to be sure to behave well, to keep the city clean? I don’t think these are strong reasons, it’s the people’s mentality which saves the Paradise on Earth...

A Step Towards a Goal

Image
How does a journey start.....by just thinking over it? NO! It starts when we take our first step towards it. Milestones can be achieved, every goal can be accomplished.....but take that first step, start working towards it and you will see miracles happening. You will see things will work out as per your will.....suddenly you will find time in your busy schedule, you’ll get support from every person around & this Universe will make it happen.                 Such a step, of seeing Mumbai become Shanghai, has been taken. An organization called Blue Ribbon Movement(BRM) , along with Praja – a NGO and Mumbai First ,  has started a project called  1916 – A Super Hero . It involves NSS volunteers of various colleges across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, etc. The aim of the project is to promote 1916 – A Centralized Complaint Registration Numb...
